- The essential oils in this product have anti-inflammatory, expectorant and antibacterial effects. The antibacterial effects of eucalyptus, the major constituent of eucalyptus essential oil, appear to be greater on gram-positive bacteria and more sensitive to Bacillus subtilis and Micrococcus goldtamius. Quercetin and hyperoside in eucalyptus have anti-influenza A effects. In addition, the effect of this drug in preventing runny nose and inflammation of the throat mucosa can help reduce the secretion, astringency and anti-inflammatory effect of other compounds in eucalyptus and benzoin extracts. Other compounds and essential oils in this product also contain expectorant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
