Dasatinib is used to treat various types of leukemia. Leukemia is a type of cancer that produces too many abnormal white blood cells in the body. Dasatinib is known as antineoplastics or cancer drugs. Dasatinib interferes with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed in the body. This medicine should be prescribed under the supervision of a doctor.

Possible side effects of dasatinib

All drugs, along with their positive effects, can cause unwanted side effects in the body. Although these complications do not occur in all people. With the passage of time, your body adapts to the new drug and these symptoms also disappear, but if the following symptoms continue or become painful, consult your doctor.

Headache, general body aches

Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision: Avoid driving and working with tools in these conditions.

Boredom, upset stomach, indigestion: Eat simple foods.

Diarrhea and constipation: drink plenty of water.

Bleeding, dry cough, fever: Tell your doctor right away.

Loss of appetite, ringing in the ears, mood changes, sleep problems, changes in the sense of taste, numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, weight changes: Tell your doctor if any of these bother you.

Changes in the results of blood tests, heart disorders, high blood pressure: the doctor regularly monitors these cases.

Talk to your doctor if you develop other symptoms that you feel are due to the use of dasatinib.

Precautions regarding the use of dasatinib

Before starting dasatinib treatment, let your doctor know about any medication you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbs, etc.). Do not take aspirin or aspirin-containing products unless your doctor tells you to.

Dasatinib interacts with many common medications. Inform your doctor before starting any new medication. Do not receive any vaccinations or immunizations while receiving dasatinib without your doctor’s approval.

If you are pregnant or may become pregnant, inform your doctor before starting treatment. The drug category of lapatinib in pregnancy is D and may be harmful to the fetus.
