What is Captopril Pills?
Captopril is a drug used to treat the symptoms of high blood pressure (especially in heart failure). Today, this drug is also used in patients with cardiac ischemia. It blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme. By preventing narrowing of the arteries and fluid retention in them, captopril reduces the pressure inside the blood vessels and the workload of the heart. This drug is excreted in the urine.
